6 Granny Smith apples sliced
1¼ C sugar
½C water
2 T Corn starch
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 T butter

Directions:
Directions:
In a large microwave safe bowl add apples & ½ C water & microwave on medium setting until apples are soft stirring every 3-4 minutes
Add cinnamon & cornstarch dissolved with ¼ c water
Cook until thick stirring often
Add 1 T butter
Place in 9" pie crust
Bake in a 400º until crust is brown

I found you can use any apple as long as you cook in a little water first before adding sugar. It doesn't take long to bake because filling is already cooked. If you make this filling and freeze in pie shell it will take about an hour to bake
