1 can sour cherries, drained
1 c. sugar
1 tbsp. butter
1 tbsp. cornstarch
Several drops red food coloring-optional

Pastry:
1½ c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 to 1/2 cups milk
2¼ tsp. baking powder
2 tbsp. shortening

Directions:
Directions:
Heat 2 cups cherry juice, adding water to make enough. When hot, add sugar, butter, cornstarch and food coloring. Set aside.

Mix pastry ingredients together and roll out into a rectangle. Scatter cherries on top and roll up like a jellyroll. Slice 1½-inches thick and put in a greased pan. Pour juice mixture over rolled rolls and bake for 30 minutes at 350º. Delicious with fresh Door County cherries when in season!
