Grandma Paratore's Italian Sauce Recipe

6 28 oz cans crushed tomatoes or tomato puree
Rinse tomato can with 1/2 can of water and add to sauce
Large onion diced, 4-5 cloves garlic chopped or garlic pressed or minced garlic
1 teaspoon of each oregano, basil and sugar
Salt/Pepper to taste

Directions:
In same pan that meatballs were fried in add onion and garlic. Fry until they are transparent, then add oregano, basil and sugar
Stir until you see the meat pieces come loose
Now take 1 28 oz can of tomatoes and add to the pan
Simmer for 10-15 minutes
In large pot put remaining cans of tomatoes, rinse 1/2 can water in each empty tomato can and add to sauce
As sauce thickens you may need a little more water depending on how thick you like your sauce
Add 1 tablesppon oregano, Italian seasoning, salt pepper to taste
Now add the onion, garlic, tomato mixture to large pot
Cook at low heat stirring frequently so the sauce won't stick to the bottom
Add meatballs and continue cooking for several hours

Always sauce /meatballs at a Paratore Family Party. My grandkids now are enjoying Grandma Paratore's sauce /meatballs and love them
