1 cup (2 sticks) margarine or butter, softened

1 1/4 cups firmly packed brown sugar

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 eggs

2 tbsp. milk

2 tsp. vanilla

1 3/4 cups all purpose flour

1 tsp. baking soda

1/2 tsp. salt (optional)

2 1/2 cups Quaker Oats

1 (12oz.) package (2 cups) Nestle Toll House semi-sweet chocolate morsels

1 cup coarsely chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 375 degrees.

Beat margarine and sugars until creamy. Add eggs, milk, and vanilla; beat well.

Add flour, baking soda and salt; mix well.

Stir in oats, chocolate morsels and nuts; mix well.

Drop by rounded measuring tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake 9-10 minutes for a chewy cookie or 12-13 minutes for a crisp cookie.

Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet, move to wire rack. Cool completely.
