2 c all-purpose flour
¾ tsp salt
⅔ c shortening

Directions:
Directions:
Mix and sift flour and salt
Cut in the shortening with a knife
Add just enough water to hold ingredients together (do not knead)

Divide dough into two parts
On a lightly floured board, roll out thin

For 1 crust pastry-
Line a pie pan with one-half the pastry
Pinch pastry with fingers to make a fancy edge
Prick bottom and sides with a fork
Bake at 460º F for 10 to 15 minutes

For 2 crust pie-
Line pie pan with half the pastry
Put in filling
Cover with top crust
Bake as directed for pies

For a less rich pastry, use ½ c shortening
