2 tsp vegetable oil
1 large onion, peeled and chopped (1 cup)
8oz mushrooms coarsely chopped
2 cloves garlic minced
1 (10-oz) pkg. frozen chopped broccoli, thawed and drained
1½ cups matzah farfel
1 egg lightly mixed
1 cup chicken broth
1 tsp dried basil
1 tsp salt

Directions:

1. Grease or spray an 11x7" glass baking dish.

2. Heat oil and sauté onion 1 minute. Reduce heat, cover, and cook, stirring often until very soft (10 minutes).

3. Add mushrooms and garlic, and sauté uncovered until most of the liquid has evaporated. Transfer to a bowl and cool slightly.

4. Stir in broccoli, farfel, egg, broth, basil, salt, and pepper.

5. Spoon into baking dish. Cover with foil. Bake at 325º covered for 1 hour. For crisp top bake uncovered for the last 30 minutes.
