4 bacon strips, cut up
1/4 c white vinegar
2 green onions with tops, sliced
2 tsp sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
8 to 10 cups torn leaf lettuce
1 hard boiled egg, chopped (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
In a bowl, place torn lettuce and onions and egg if using. In a large skillet, cook bacon until crisp. Remove with a slotted spoon to drain on paper towel. To the bacon grease, add the vinegar, sugar, salt and pepper, stirring until the sugar is dissolved. Adjust any ingredients to taste. Pour hot dressing over lettuce and toss to coat. Serve Immediately.
