2 pkgs. dry yeast
½ cup lukewarm water
2 T. shortening
5 cups flour
4 T. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1½ cup milk
2 eggs

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve yeast in water. Combine shortening, sugar, salt, milk and scald. Cool to lukewarm and add eggs, dissolved yeast and flour. may need to adjust the amount of flour, be sure it is barely stiff enough to handle. Grandma preferred it a bit sticky at this point. Cover and let rise until double in bulk. Pour about 2 T. melted butter over and knead it in. Let rise to double again. Repeat this about 3 times. Roll out and cut into rounds, brush with butter and fold in half. Arrange on greased cookie sheet and let rise to double and bake at 375º until golden brown. Don't over bake.
