2 c. All purpose flour
2-¼ tsp. baking powder
¼ tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
⅓ c. plus 2 tsp. Crisco shortening
¾ c. Buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour, measure and re-sift 3 times with rest of dry ingredients. Cut in Crisco. Stir in buttermilk. Knead a dozen times. Roll to ½ - ¾ inch thick and cut.

Place on a greased or ungreased baking sheet.

Brush tops with melted butter.

Bake at 450º for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
