½ c butter
1 c sugar
7/8 c milk
3 eggs (very fresh)
23 Graham crackers
2 tsp baking powder
1 c chopped nuts
½ tsp salt


Filling
4TBS butter
6TBS powdered sugar
2 egg yolks (very fresh)

Powdered sugar frosting.

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar. Beat yolks of eggs until light and add to butter and sugar. Then add milk. Roll crackers until fine. Mix baking powder with cracker crumbs then add salt and chopped nuts. Mix into batter. Now beat the egg whites and fold into batter. Bake in load or 2 small layers in med oven.
375º for 25 minutes

Filling
Cream butter and sugar. Add beaten egg yolks and flavor with vanilla.

Frost with powered sugar frosting.

Ann West shared this recipe with a cousins text group. It was removed from the St. Johns cookbook due to raw eggs. Use fresh eggs when making it. This recipe originally came from her Grandmother Verna Moeller.
