2 cups sifted flour
¾ cup sugar
½ pound butter
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 egg yolk
¾ cup sour cream
¾ cup finely chopped walnuts

Dough:
Using dough hooks on electric mixer. Mix butter into flour. Add egg yolk and sour cream. Shape dough into ball and sprinkle with flour. Wrap in wax paper and chill in refrigerator for at least 4 hours.

Mix sugar, cinnamon, nuts and set aside.

To shape cookies divide dough into four equal parts. Roll out one section at a time in a circle that is ⅛ inch thick. Sprinkle with sugar/nut mixture. Cut each circle into 12 triangles. Roll each triangle by starting at the widest end to shape into a crescent. Place onto greased, or line with parchment paper cookie sheet. Continue until all 4 parts of dough are rolled into crescents. Bake at 375º for 20 minutes.

Let cool.

I remember as a child, my grandmother would have these in small trays stored in the freezer. When she was getting company, she asked me to retrieve a tray out and leave on the counter to thaw. She would usually serve to her company with coffee.
