Cake Batter:
Make a paste of-
1 oz bottle Red Food Coloring
1 oz Buttermilk
3 T Cocoa

Cream together-
1½ C Sugar
½ C Crisco

Add and beat until fluffy-
2 Eggs (one at a time)
Red Paste

Add alternately-
1½ C sifted Cake Flour
1 C Buttermilk
Pinch of Salt

Mix together separately in a bowl-
1 T Vinegar
1 teas Baking Soda
Gently fold into the cake batter

Pour batter into 2 - 8 inch round cake pans, greased and floured. Bake for 30 minutes in a 350 degree preheated oven.

Frosting:
Cream-
1 stick of Margarine (room temperature)
½ C Crisco
Add-
1 C Sugar
3 T Cake flour (one at a time)
Add-
¾ C Milk (room temperature)
1 teas Vanilla
Beat for 15 minutes until light and fluffy.

Frost cooled cake.
