1½ cups of mashed strawberries
¾ cup water
1 tbsp lemon juice
½ cup sugar
3 tbsp cornstarch
5 cups halved strawberries
Sweeted whipped cream
1 pastry shell

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 450F. Cook pastry shell until golden brown.

Place mashed strawberries, ½ water, lemon juice in a 2 qt. pan and bring to a boil over medium heat. Strain mixture to remove pulp and then measure liquid. If necessary, simmer to reduce to one cup or add water to bring up to one cup. Return liquid to pan, stir in sugar, corn starch and remaining cup of water, cook over medium heat, continuously stirring until glaze boils and thickens. Remove from heat and let cool.

Fill pastry shell with 2½ cups of halved strawberries and pour ⅓ of the glaze over strawberries. Top pie with the remaining 2½ cups of strawberries and pour remaining glaze over the strawberries. Refrigerate until the glaze is set, about 2½ hours.

Serve with sweet whipped cream.
