3-1/2 c flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1-1/2 tsp ground ginger
1-1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp ground cloves
1/2 c butter, softened
3/4 sugar
1 egg
3/4 light molasses
1tsp grated lemon peel

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour, soda, salt, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves into a large bowl. In large bowl beat butter, sugar, and egg until light and fluffy. Add molasses and lemon peel until well blended. Stir in flour mixture with wooden spoon. Until well blended. Divide into 4 balls, wrap in plastic. Refrigerate overnight.
Lightly grease baking sheets. Heat over to 375º. Roll one ball at a time to 1/8” thick, on a lightly floured board. Cut out shapes. Place 1” apart . Bake 6-8 minutes.
