1 cup chopped dates
1 ¾ tsp soda
1 ½ cups boiling water
2 eggs
½ cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 ½ cup flour
¾ tsp salt
½ cup brown sugar
1 cup chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Pour boiling water over dates and 1 tsp soda. Beat eggs then add butter and sugar, beat together well then stir into date mixture. Add remaining flour, salt and soda. Pour runny batter into greased 9X13 inch pan. Mix brown sugar and chocolate chips then spread over batter. Bake at 350°F for 40-50 minutes until toothpick comes clean.
