A Nova Scotia Recipe

2 cups butter
1 cup sugar (icing or brown sugar)
1/4 teaspoon vanilla or almond
4 cups flour
Cream butter and sugar blend well. Add the vanilla mix well add flour in 4 portions mixing well each time. Knead on board until cracks disappear, Roll into walnut sized balls and place on cookie sheet.  Use a fork and sugar or cookie press to press down***. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes until  barely brown. Should remain very light in color

*** you can sprinkle with decorations or leave plain and dip or drizzle with Chocolate
