Cake:
1 stick butter
½ cup cooking oil
2 cups sugar
5 egg yolks
1 tsp vanilla
5 egg whites, stiffly beaten
1 cup buttermilk
2 cups sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
½ tsp. salt
2 cups coconut
1 cup chopped nuts

Frosting: (double for more frosting)
1 (8 oz) pkg. cream cheese
1 tsp. vanilla
1 stick butter
1 box powdered sugar

Cake:
Cream together first 3 ingredients. Add egg yolks, one at a time, and 1 tsp. vanilla.
Alternately put in buttermilk and sifted flour.
Add chopped nuts and coconut.
Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
Use 3 cake pans, greased and floured.
Bake 30 minutes at 350º

Frosting:
Cream 1 large (8 oz.) package cream cheese, 1 tsp. vanilla and 1 stick butter.
Add 1 box of powdered sugar. Mix. Spread on layer of cake, sprinkle coconut and nuts on top.
