½ c. shortening
½ tsp. salt
½ tsp. grated lemon rind
½ tsp. nutmeg
1 c. sugar
2 unbeaten eggs

2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. baking soda

2 T. milk

Directions:
Directions:
Combine the first six ingredients and beat together. Sift together the next three ingredients. Add to the shortening mixture and blend. Add milk and mix well. Drop 1 T. at a time on a greased baking sheet. Flatten cookies with the bottom of a drinking glass. Bake at 350º for 10 minutes.
