Choose the ingredients according to the size pan you want to use.
Use the table below:

Pan Size Butter Eggs Milk and Flour

2 to 3 quarts 1/4 cup 3 3/4 cups each

3 to 4 quarts 1/3 cup 4 1 cup each

4 to 4 1/2 quarts 1/2 cup 5 1 1/4 cups each

4 1/2 to 5 quarts 1/2 cup 6 1 1/2 cups each

Directions:
1. Melt butter in pan in hot oven.

2. Mix batter for Dutch Baby.

3. Pour batter from container into hot butter; set pan back into 425 degree oven.

4. After 7 minutes pancake begins to puff, then climbs the sides of the pan.

5. In about 20 minutes, it is billowy and browned, ready to serve.

Topping: Powdered sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, syrup, fresh or frozen fruits, or canned pie filling.

This recipe came from Sunset Magazine. I have a old frying pan that the handle burned off. It's perfect for making these. But, a Dutch oven also works well if you don't have an oven-proof frying pan.
