3/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. Brer Rabbit Molasses
1 egg
2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Melt shortening in 3-4 qt. sauce pan over low heat. Remove and cool. Add sugar molasses, and egg, beat well. Sift together flour, soda, cloves, ginger, cinnamon and salt. Add to first mixture. Mix and chill. Form in one-inch balls, roll in granulated sugar & place on greased cookie sheet 2 inches apart. Bake 375 degrees. 8-10 men.
