2 cups beans
1 medium onion
½ tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. dry mustard
3-3½ tbsp. molasses
2 in square salt pork

Directions:
Directions:
Wash 2 cups beans. Put in large pot, add 6 cups water; let stand overnight. Drain water, put beans in beanpot or casserole dish. Add 1 medium onion, diced; ½ tsp. baking soda, 1 tsp. salt, 1 tsp. dry mustard, 3-3½ tbsp. molasses, 2-in. square salt pork. Add just enough water to cover beans. Place cover on pot, cook at 250º for 4½ to 5½ hours. Add more water during cooking time to maintain level. Remove from oven and let stand 15-20 min. Serve.
