Nanny's Lasagna Recipe

2Tbl Vegetable oil
1lb ground beef
1/2tsp Italian seasoning
2 cups water
1/2lb cottage cheese or ricotta (see notes)
1 clove garlic, minced
2tsp salt
1/4tsp pepper
1 medium onion, chopped
1- 6oz can tomato paste
1/2lb lasagna noodles
1/2lb mozzarella cheese

Directions:
Directions:
In hot oil, in heavy pan, fry garlic and onion until soft.
Add beef. Cook and stir until crumbly.
Add salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, tomato paste and water.
Simmer, uncovered, for 30 minutes

In a baking pan, put thin layer of sauce, noodles, cotteage cheese, then mozzarella.
Repeat with half of remaining sauce, noodles, the rest of the sauce and layer of mozzarella.

Bake at 350º until sauce is bubbling hot.

Let stand out of oven for 15 minutes before cutting into squares.
