3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup melted shortening
2 eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375ºF.

Blend sugar well with the melted shortening. Stir in the beaten eggs and vanilla. Add remaining dry ingredients and blend well. Chill several hours until easy to handle.

Roll out dough to 1/8 inch thickness and make cut-outs.

Bake at 375ºF for 7-8 minutes on ungreased cookie sheet(s).
Let the cookies cool for about 5 minutes before removing them from the cookie sheet(s).

Helpful Hint: When rolling out the dough between 2 pieces of waxed paper, makes it easier to lift and transfer each cookie to the cookie sheet.
