½ c. oatmeal
½ c. whole wheat flour
2 tsp. salt
¼ c. shortening
2 T. molasses
2 T. honey
1 c. boiling water
2 packages active dry yeast
½ c. warm water
1 tsp. honey
1 egg
2½ to 3½ c. flour

Directions:
Directions:
Combine first 6 ingredients and pour boiling water over all. Mix and let cool. While cooling, dissolve yeast in warm water with honey. Add egg to cooled batter; then mix in dissolved yeast. Add flour until dough is just soft enough to knead. Knead lightly.

Place dough in greased bowl; cover with damp cloth. Let rise in warm place until doubled in bulk, about 1 hour. Punch down dough and cut into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and put into greased 9-inch square pan. Let rise again about 45 minutes. Bake in preheated 350° oven for 40 minutes. Makes 12 rolls.
