1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1 cup shortening
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
2 eggs
2 cups rolled oats
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 package semisweet chocolate chip cookies


Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugars, add eggs and continue beating until fluffy.
Add flour, soda, salt, baking powder, and vanilla and mix until well blended.
Add rolled oats and chocolate chips.
Drop by teaspoon on cookie sheet.
Bake until brown - about 12-15 minutes at 350 degrees F.
It is also great to add pecans, walnuts, raisins, and coconut to your taste.
