½ cup white sugar
¾ cup butter
1 egg white
2 tbsp dark corn syrup
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp ground cloves
1½ tsp cinnamon
Powdered sugar

Pre-heat oven 350º

In large bowl, cream the butter and sugar. Add egg white and corn syrup and mix until fluffy.

Sift together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, and cloves. Add to the egg mixture.

Form one inch balls and roll in sugar.

Place balls on cookie sheet two inches apart and press down with the bottom of a glass dipped in cane sugar
