Sift and set aside- 2 C flour, 2 TBL. sugar, 1 teas. baking soda, 3/4 teas. salt, 1 teas. cardamom

Combine- 1 C sour cream, 2/3 C milk, 3 beaten egg yolks and 2 TBL. melted butter

Make a well in center of flour mixture- add liquid all at one time- stirring until blended. Add 3 well beaten egg whites- folding over while adding.

Put pan on stove- heat- test by dropping in a few drops of cold water- grease wells with butter- pour batter into wells about 1/2 full. Turn with fork- do not pierce- brown evenly. Test with wooden toothpick. Serve immediately with powdered sugar.
