1 cup butter, softened
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking powder
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tbsp. milk

Frosting
1/2 cup butter, softened
2 tbsp. sour cream
4 cups powdered sugar
2 tsp vanilla
food coloring as desired
1-2 tbsp. milk

In a stand mixer, fitted with a paddle attachment cream together butter and sugar on medium until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Beat in eggs, milk, and vanilla. Add salt and baking powder and mix well. Slowly add in flour while mixer is on low speed until all incorporated. Drop by about 1 1/2 tbsp. size onto cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes. Allow to cool on cookie sheet for about 3 minutes and then transfer to cooling rack. Let cool completely and then frost.

Frosting:
Mix the butter, sour cream, powdered sugar and vanilla together with an electric mixer. Add food coloring if desired and then add the milk to get to desired consistency. Frosting should be thick and creamy. Once cookies are cooled frost each cookie and allow to chill in refrigerator to set. These are best served chilled.
