1 Cup Butter, softened
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 Cups flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup finely chopped pecans, toasted
about 36 pecan halves, toasted
Frosting:
1 Cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup 1/2 and 1/2
1 T. butter
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Directions:
Beat butters at medium speed of an electric mixer until creamy, gradually add sugars, mixing well. Add egg and vanilla; beat well.

Combine flour, soda and salt and gradually add to the creamed mixture, stirring well. Add the chopped pecans. Scoop into 1 1/2 " balls onto baking sheets lined with parchment. Making sure they are about 2" apart. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour. Bake at 350 for about 10-12 minutes. Cool and top with Brown sugar frosting. Top each cookie with a pecan half.

For the frosting:

Combine brown sugar and 1/2 and 1/2 in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture comes to a boil. Boil 4 minutes. Remove from heat add butter. Add the powdered sugar and mix with electric mixer till smooth. While still warm, dip top of cookies into frosting and top with a pecan. If frosting gets too thick, just spread the rest on the top of the remaining cookies and top with the pecan.

These are pretty famous at Nordstrom Cafes. They actually gave me the recipe when I asked for it! They must get a lot of requests for it.
