Directions:Cream cheese and margarine together until fluffy. Add seasonings. Turn electric mixer to low and add flour. Fold in cereal. Shape into small balls and flatten with your thumb on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 325º on middle shelf of oven until lightly browned, about 20 minutes. DO NOT OVERCOOK! Cool thoroughly on wire racks. Store in layers in an airtight freezer container. These are delicious served frozen. They also can be reheated or served at room temperature. To make Cheese straws instead of cookies: Roll dough out between waxed paper into a rectangle and cut into thin strips. Place on a cookie sheet and bake at 325º for about 10 minutes or until golden brown. |
