1 c. - butter OR oleo
2 c. - brown sugar
2 - eggs, beaten
1 c. - sour milk OR buttermilk
1 c. - raisins, chopped
c. - chopped nuts
4 c. - flour (reserve some for raisins & nuts)
tsp. - salt
1 tsp. - nutmeg
1 tsp. - baking soda
3 tsp. - baking powder

Cream shortening and sugar then add beaten eggs. Sift flour, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg. Dissolve soda in milk. Mix all add floured nuts and raisins. Drop from spoon to cookie sheet. Bake for 15 minutes at 375.
