1 c. sour cream
3 T. shortening
3 T. sugar
1/8 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 Ig. egg, unbeaten
1 pkg. yeast, softened in 1/2 c. warm water
3 c. flour

Directions:
Directions:
Bring sour cream to a boil. Remove from heat and add shortening, sugar, baking soda and salt. Cool to lukewarm and add yeast and egg. Add the flour; mix. Let rest for 5 minutes. Make into twists by rolling out into rectangular shape. Butter the dough and sprinkle half with brown sugar and cinnamon. Fold in half and cut into strips; twist. Place on greased cookie sheet. Let rise for approximately 1 hour. Bake at 375º for 10 to 12 minutes. Frost with powdered sugar frosting while still warm.
