2 pkg. yeast (2 T.)
4 1/2 c. warm water
1 c. soft shortening or lard
1 c. sugar
4 eggs
1/3 c. wheat germ
2 T. salt (scant)
4 c. whole wheat flour, or 6 to 8 c. white flour

Directions:
Directions:
Soften yeast in 1/2 cup water. Then add remaining water; stir. Add sugar and salt. Stir until dissolved. Add shortening and eggs, beat with mixer. Add wheat germ and enough flour to make knead-able dough. Mix with large spoon. Place on floured counter top, and let rise until double in bulk.
