Ingredients: creamy, sweet, delicious sauerkraut
one large can of sauerkraut 27 oz can (silver floss or snow floss) one medium onion diced 1 tablespoon + or - canola oil one delicious peeled apple one idaho peeled potato 1 tsp caraway seeds brown sugar to taste

Directions:saute one medium onion in 1 tablespoon of canola oil (enough oil to cover bottom of pan
add one can of sauerkraut with juice and add 1 can of water, cook sauerkraut grate one delicious apple into kraut add 1 tsp of caraway seeds
grate one potato into sauerkraut, stir and let cook 20 to 30 min (stir often so it does not burn) season kraut with salt and pepper and add brown sugar if you want it sweet (I add one to 2 tablespoons.
if you have any aus jus from pork, I will add a little to season sauerkraut Sometimes i throw some baby back ribs in kraut. I sauté ribs then add to sauerkraut when I add the water. The meat helps flavor the kraut. |
