Cake Ingredients
2 oz. red food coloring
2 c. butter
2 c. sugar
1 T vinegar
1 T cocoa
2 1/2 c. flour
1 c. Buttermilk
1 1/2 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla

Icing Ingredients:
1 c butter
1 c sugar
1 c coconut (optional)
1 c nuts (optional)
1 c sweet milk
3 T flour
1 tsp vanilla

Directions for cake:
Cream butter and sugar. Mix vinegar and cocoa together to
make a paste. Sift flour, soda and salt. Add one egg at a
time to butter and sugar. Beat, add coloring and add vinegar
mixture. Add buttermilk and flour mixture alternately and beat.
Add vanilla.

Banke at 350 for 25 minutes in 3 layer pans.

Directions for Icing:

Mix flour and milk and cook until thick. Cool completely.
Cream butter and sugar. Add coconut, nuts, vanilla and milk
mixture. Beat until thick enough to spread on layers of cake.
