1 cup shortening
1+1/2 cup sugar
3 eggs
3 cups unsifted flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1+1/3 cup ( half of the 28 oz jar) None Such Ready to Use Mincemeat
1 cup chopped nuts or toasted coconut, optional
1 tsp grated orange rind, optional

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375º

In large mixer bowl, cream shortening & sugar

Add eggs, beating until smooth.

Combine with dry ingredients gradually.

Stir in mincemeat, rind & nuts.

Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls, 2" apart on to greased baking sheets

Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned

Cool & frost if desired
