One 3-4 pound corned beef brisket
¾ cup sugar
½ t ginger
½ t ground cloves
½ t ground dry mustard
1 T honey
1 medium head cabbage, grated
¼ cup butter
½ cup sour cream
1 t fresh ground pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Boil beef in water to cover for 2-3 hours or until tender. Remove from water, trim off fat and place in a roasting pan. Now make a paste of the ginger, cloves, sugar, mustard and honey. Spread this mixture over the top of the brisket. Bake in a preheated oven at 325º for 30 minutes.
While the roast is baking sauté the cabbage in butter for 4-5 minutes or until crisp tender stirring constantly. Stir in the sour cream; season with salt and pepper. Serve alongside the brisket which you have sliced in serving pieces
