½ C. Butter
⅓ C. Sugar
⅓ C. Light Brown Sugar
1 Egg
½ tsp. Baking Soda
½ tsp. Baking Powder
½ tsp. Salt
½ tsp. Vanilla Extract
1¼ C. Flour
½ C. Oats
1 C. Jelly Beans or Gum Drops

Directions:

Cream together butter and sugars.
Beat in egg, baking soda, baking powder, salt and vanilla extract.
Stir in flour and oats until well blended.
Add jelly beans.
Drop by rounded spoonfuls on lightly greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375º for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned.

I found this recipe in Jackie Olden's "Jackie's Kitchen Magic" cookbook. I wonder if this is the source of Grandma Maryann's gumdrop cookies. It captured my interest because it would be so much easier to put jelly beans into a recipe, rather than cut up gumdrops in preparation to bake the cookies!
