½ c. shortening
¼ c. sugar
1 egg separated
1 tbsp. grated orange peel
1½ tsp grated lemon peel
½ tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1 c. flour
¾ c. chopped nuts
Candied cherries

Directions:
Directions:
1. Cream shortening and sugar until fluffy.
2. Add egg yolk, grated orange + lemon peel, vanilla, lemon juice, and flour. Mix well.
3. Roll into small balls, dip in egg white, roll in chopped nuts.
4. Place on a greased cookie sheet, and center a cherry in each cookie.
5. Bake at 350ºF for 20 mins.
