Personal Notes:
This is the pumpkin pie we grew up eating every Thanksgiving and Christmas. The spices in the pie are unique to our family. One Thanksgiving my daughter Brittney brought a guest who at the supper table bragged about how he made pumpkin pie and he was the best pumpkin pie baker. Everyone at the table their mouths fell open like wow he just challenged GRAMMA to PUMPKIN PIE BAKE OFF ??? Gramma just smile but the very next night there was Pumpkin Pie for desert and Gramma makes the best thinnest incredible flaky pastry and she served it up. The young man then suggested after eating that he would not be entering into a Pumpkin Pie bake off with GRAMMA Merle.
