2 cups sugar
1 cup water
¾ tsp. baking powder
¾ stick butter
1 tsp. flavoring (your choice)
food color (if desired)

Directions:
Directions:
In a heavy saucepan, place the water, sugar, baking powder and butter. Do not stir. Bring to a hard boil. Boil until a teaspoon hardens when dropped into cold water (265º degrees on a candy thermometer test). Pour on a greased COLD marble slab. Pull until taffy forms, and cut with scissors. Vent loved to flavor with peant butter added during the pulling. Store in tightly covered container.
