1/2 box of elbow macaroni
1/4 or so of (2 lb.) Velveeta block
1/2 c. milk or more
3-4 tbsp. of real butter

Optional: add frozen peas, tuna, or sliced smoked turkey sausage.

Directions:
Directions:
Cook macaroni according to directions. Drain. Put back in pot on stovetop and turn on low to medium heat, add butter and milk and stir til butter melts. Add the cubed Velveeta cheese and stir until melts and pasta is at desired temperature. Continue to add milk if needed for desired consistency.
Add the optional ingredients at this point and stir until combined and heated through.

This favorite recipe comes from "Grandma Joyce" (AKA Mom), however over the years I have added my own touch to it as well. As you can see this is a very vague recipe as it has been pretty much an "eyeball" thing for me as I know it was the same for my mama!
This particular recipe also reminds me of playing "Crazy Kitchen" with the girls and their friends. They would ask me to make "Grandma's Mac & Cheese" and play Crazy Kitchen. I would dress up like a crazy lady, with make up literally all over my face, my hair a complete rat's mess, and serve them lunch with a sour attitude, googly eyes, and sometimes act "crazy" enough they would be scared! The Michal girls and the Winterland girls were often present during these crazy/pscyho Julie moments! :)
