1 c crisco
1/2 c butter
1 1/2 c sugar
4 eggs
1 1/2 t + vanilla [optional lemon, almond etc]
4-4 1/2 c flour
2 rounded t baking powder
1 t salt
Sprinkles or sugar to decorate

Directions:

Cream crisco, butter, and sugar well.
Add eggs one at a time, beating to combine.
Add flavorings.
Mix dry ingredients and add to above, beating to combine.
Drop or roll cookies.
Sugar tops before baking.
375º. 10-15 min

This was my Grandmother’ s recipe. I have fond memories of baking with her when I was very young. After she passed away, I started baking with my mother. These are a softer cookie and feel free to play around with add ins (mini chocolate chips, sprinkle, nuts, as well as flavorings. They are really not suitable for decorating.
