5 cups flour
¼ cup sugar
1 tsp salt
¾ cup milk
½ cup butter
½ cake yeast
1 cup warm water
1 egg

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour, sugar and salt together. Scald milk and cool. Add butter to milk and dissolve yeast. Add warm water. (I usually add a teaspoon of sugar and let this mixture stand to be sure the yeast activates.)
Add the egg, and then add the whole mixture into the sifted ingredients.

Let rise 3 times, for 30 minutes each time. Shape into crescents.

Bake at 375º until brown, about 25 minutes.

Brush with extra butter once out of the oven.
