Ingredients: 2 sticks butter 1 c sugar 3 eggs 2 t vanilla 1/2 t almond extract (optional) 31/2-4 c flour 1 t baking powder 1/2 t baking soda 1 cup+ chopped or slivered almonds Options dried fruit chocolate chips cinnamon chips use your imagination for add ins

Directions:Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and extracts. Mix dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture. Add nuts etc. Make a log (3) and knead a bit so the texture is like clay. Place on a parchment lined baking sheet. Bake 350º oven 20-30 minutes until lightly browned. Cool 10-20 minutes before slicing on a diagonal. Place back in the oven for 10 minutes to dry out. They will become crispier as they cool.
Optional Dip in dark or white chocolate, add sprinkles for fun |
