1 cup water
2 cups seedless raisins
1 cup Crisco
2 cups sugar
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons salt
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon allspice

Directions:
Directions:
Boil raisins in water for 5 minutes and cool. Cream Crisco with sugar, add eggs and beat well.
Add vanilla and raisin mixture to creamed mixture. Sift dry ingredients together, add to raisin mixture
and mix well. Add nuts, if desired. Boil at 400º for 12-15 minutes. Makes 5 dozen cookies.
