4 sticks of butter room temp
3 cups of sugar
5 eggs (large) room temp
3 cups of self-rising flour
1 1/2 cup of milk
1 tbsp vanilla extract

Jelly Frosting

Use a jar of apple jelly
1/2 cup of sugar if needed

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees grease and flour your pans

Mix butter and sugar together adding eggs one a time. Take the milk with the vanilla extract mix together alternately with the flour until mixed well.

Pour into your cake pans baking for 25 minutes or until golden brown. Check to see if done by inserting a toothpick to see if comes out clean.

Make sure to cool before putting Jelly frosting on cake.

Making cakes was a priority for all us girls and ladies on Saturday night to be prepared for Sunday dinner. No matter what the dinner was it was always a cake present. Her favorite cake was making a Jelly Cake which I thought was so good while warm.
