1 stewing chicken
2 lb. boiling beef
1 stalk celery
1 can peeled, cooked tomatoes
1 lb. peeled whole carrots
1 large onion
3 turnips
sprig of parsley
water
salt and pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Put all ingredients into very large pan. Add water to the top. Cover and simmer all day or 4 to 6 hours. You can strain all the broth into a separate pan and add noodles or rice. Add any of the other ingredients to each bowl of soup according to taste. Carrots are especially good.
