Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2 Cups Sugar
¼ Cup Cocoa
½ Cup Milk
½ Cup Butter (1 stick)
2 ¼ Cup Quick Oatmeal
*½ Cup Peanut Butter
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
* Nuts, if desired
* Optional

Directions:
Directions:
In a saucepan over medium heat bring the sugar, cocoa, milk and butter to a rolling boil. Let boil like this for 4-5 minutes. Test in cold water with a few drops to see if ready. When ready take off the heat, add the vanilla, peanut butter and nuts and stir. Then quickly stir in the oatmeal. You should have some parchment paper or aluminum foil on the counter, drop spoonfuls of the mixture on the paper/foil, depends on the size you put down as to how many you will have, they need to cool before you eat.

---Fudge---
You can take this same recipe, exclude the oatmeal. Let it boil a little bit longer than 4-5 minutes, you can add the vanilla after taking it off the boil and you have the option of adding peanut butter and/or nuts and then stir. Pour immediately into a buttered glass dish to cool.

My mother, Mollie Lawson, gave this recipe to me as well.This is a family favorite. MMMM, delicious!!! But it does take a perfect hand to make it , a bit tricky, not everyone can make it, some families call these cow patties, but for us, nope, not befitting these masterpieces!!! Gotta have them hot with cold milk!!!!!! My Uncle Pete (Mom's brother) loves these, and I enjoy making these for my two oldest boys and sending them to them to enjoy. Even Cady's fellow, I would send to him as they are his favorite and I taught Emma to make them for Collin. Nick and Josh both love them, well I believe that all of my nieces and nephews love them, just my youngest son, Joey doesn't like them, but he likes the fudge recipe, so he likes them minus the oatmeal, go figure!!!
