¼ cup vegetable oil
½ cup packed brown sugar
2 tbsp fancy molasses
1 large egg
1 tsp finely grated orange zest
1 cup whole wheat flour
½ cup rolled oats
¾ tsp baking powder
½ tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp nutmeg
¼ tsp cloves
¼ tsp baking soda
¼ tsp salt
½ cup chopped dates
½ cup raisins
½ cup walnut pieces
½ cup dried cranberries

Directions:
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350º. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Stir oil, brown sugar, molasses, egg and orange zest together.
3. Stir in dry ingredients (dough will be dense).
4. Add fruit and nuts and mix well. (you may have to use your hands)
5. Shape into a log about 9 in long and 2½ across. ( I use the parchment paper on the sheet to roll it up.)
6. Use bread knife to slice 18 - 1/2 inch cookies . Place on parchment paper on sheet.
7. They might need reshaping a bit and squeezing together.
8. Bake cookies 12-15 minutes, until they brown a little on the edges.
